My current employer searched Dice to find a seasoned Program Manager with Department of Defense project management experience. Thanks to Dice, my resume met every search criteria and I had an offer within 10 days of our first e-mail contact. Dice works!

I retired from the U.S. Air Force on June 1, 2007. Initially I intended to join my wife as a Realtor, but the real estate market didn't support this decision. I started scouring the job market for a month without success. I posted my resume on Dice and within days, I was contacted by Rockwell Collins. I started work in August as a Senior Systems Engineer. Thanks Dice.

I'll keep this as brief as possible. Approximately six months ago, I was contacted by a temp agency, who'd seen my resume on Dice. They said they had a position in Ft. Knox, Ky., for a call center technician, and that if I was interested I should go for the interview. I was hired and now, six months later, I am being hired directly into Lockheed Martin for more money than I have ever made in my life.

In March of 2007, I visited Jacksonville, Fla., and decided I wanted to relocate there from Detroit, Mich. I must admit I had a GREAT position in Detroit, but I really wanted to get out of the cold climate and move somewhere warm. When I returned to Detroit, I posted my resume on Dice. In April, I received a call from a company in Jacksonville that wanted me to attend a recruiting event. They'd found my resume on Dice. In May, I attended the recruiting event in Jacksonville, and the same week was offered the position, and I started in June. I have no regrets about posting my resume, interviewing for the position or accepting the position. Dice was PERFECT for me.

I posted my resume on Dice five months ago. Within a week, calls started rolling in from IT service providers, head-hunters, and corporations. Over this time period, I decided to “take my time and look around,” and not jump at the first offer. I found some excellent roles, interviewed with “top-name” IT service providers and got several offers, which I mulled. I finally ended up landing an executive position with Satyam Computer Service Ltd, via one of the recruiters that found my resume on Dice. I have now been at my new role for over a month, and I’m enjoying it tremendously. Using Dice was a success, and if / when I need to change roles or companies again, I would definitely utilize Dice resume postings, as it gets me to the right set of decision makers and recruiters. Additionally, I had the opportunity today to help another colleague that is looking for IT work, and I recommended that he start by posting his resume on Dice. It definitely works!

After almost 12 years with a semiconductor company, I was notified that I would be laid off on November 30, 2006. It was very hard for me to believe, as I thought I was doing a great job - oh well. I was technically employed through the end of January, but I was not to come to work: My computer access was terminated, badge was turned off, etc. I wasn’t too worried at first of getting a job, since I worked in HR and knew that most places really slowed down their hiring activity in December, though I did spend days visiting various job sites and sending out hundreds of resumes. In late January, I started working temp Exec Admin jobs, so I could get myself back out in the working world, and worked at keeping up my skills. Somehow, on a job site, I was directed to Dice.com. What a great day for me. Within a few days, I was contacted by the director of business development for a start-up company, and things started to happen fast. I was interviewed over the phone, and within 10 minutes of ending that conversation, the president and CEO called me. We talked, and within three days I was in the office for a face-to-face interview. I had a verbal offer, and within two days, I received an email with the offer letter. Due to a pre-arranged vacation I had, I started on March 15th, so I was technically out of work for six weeks! It must be some kind of record, considering the state of Silicon Valley these days. I’m now employee #2 at a bio-fuels start up in Menlo Park, and the Office Manager. I love my job and the people I work with. It’s an exciting opportunity and full of possibilities. It really is a dream job. The stress level I was under at the previous job was overwhelming, and it is as if I had a huge boulder lifted off my shoulders. Being laid off turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me!

I’d been an out of work Novell admin for over a year and money started getting very tight by last July. Low and behold, my regular Dice Job Alert e-mail (that I had been reading almost every day for eight months) had something promising in it this time - a job that sounded interesting and wasn’t a bad commute. A consulting firm in the same town where I used to work was looking for an on-site IT service tech for a school district not far away. The salary wasn’t that great but it was better than I was earning at the time (LOL), and would help keep the wolves away from the door. I’d never worked in Academia before but I thought it couldn’t be that different from the corporate world. I applied for the job and was hired. I was on the job less than a month, when my liaison (Associate Superintendent for Administration and Personnel) in the School District found out I was a CNA and started asking me how to do this and how to do that in Netware. Pretty soon, anything he needed to have done on the Novell servers I started to do, even though it was outside my responsibilities as an on-site grunt. The liaison is also in charge of technical services and he was so happy and grateful to have some of his burden lifted. He approached the school board to approve hiring an additional person from my company to take over some of my duties, so I could become the Novell administrator and senior tech for the entire school district. The board approved the costs, my company hired a new person and here I am, back on top with a 15% salary increase and lovin’ life again. My dream job would really be charter sailing in Hawaii, but in the real world where I have to live, this comes close enough for me!

I was working full time, but I was not happy with the company size or location. Then I received a call that started with a line like this, “I saw your profile on Dice." I was presented with the opportunity to work for a large company, located as close to home as it gets, and the rate would be considerably higher then what I had at the time. I actually worked for another company that sold some of its land to this one, and I watched the building process from start to finish. I often thought it would be nice to work in one these brand new buildings. I listened to what the caller had to say, and agreed to schedule a phone interview with the hiring managers. As always there were obstacles: The only day they could conduct this interview was the day I was going on a family vacation to Wisconsin. I supplied the agent with the phone number to reach me at the hotel. Once I arrived, I notified the front desk person to transfer the call to my room. It all sounded like it would never work, but exactly at 3:00 pm as agreed, the phone rang. I was very excited to find out they wanted to bring me in for an onsite interview. My first comment when I walked into the conference room was, “Is this a company or a cruise ship?" Everything was shiny and new. During the interview, I frequently had to answer "No" to the skills that they needed. It seemed to me that I had lost my chance to work for this company. Contrary to my belief, they hired me. I'm very happy to work here and it’s a perfect combination of nice people, good management, interesting work, growth opportunities, great location and good compensation.

I started my career in fundraising and moved on to be a senior network engineer. Like many IT professionals, I regularly have my resume posted on job boards. I decided to post my resume on Dice and many employers were contacting me, but I wasn't sure what I wanted my next move to be. Well, I went to Cancun on vacation and had an epiphany while in Mexico - No, it wasn't the Tequila! I decided that I wanted to be a project manager! I had project management experience, really enjoyed the work, and thought it would be a natural transition for me from networking. So, I returned from Mexico and changed my title on Dice to IT Project Manager. I started getting interesting job descriptions, some were network related and others were project manager related. One of the positions sounded great, but it was from a recruiter. The job description was everything that I was looking for. However, I am very skeptical about recruiters. This may not be fair, it's just based on past experience. This recruiter called my house and emailed me several times. I decided to give him a chance. I'm so glad I did! I had a fantastic call with the recruiter (who was the most straightforward recruiter that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with). One phone interview and two in-person interviews later, I had my dream job! I am an IT project manager at a prestigious academic institution. I've been working there for about four months now, and cannot thank Dice enough.

I was laid off this year after 17 years of working for the same company. Not only was I laid off, but my husband was laid off as well. He worked for the same company (that's how we met). We were devastated. I always thought I would retire from this company and was saddened to know that wasn't going to happen. On top of that, we were both forced to find jobs somewhere else and in a hurry. We have two children, and Christmas was coming. I have always instilled in my kids that Christmas isn't about the gifts, but knowing we might be faced with not having any for the first time ever made me extremely sad. I know I should have been more concerned about how we were going to pay the house payment, but for some reason knowing we might not have a Christmas seemed horrible to me. I had posted my resume on all of the job sites (CareerBuilder, Monster, etc.), and wasn't having any luck. I'd applied to many different positions and had gone on several interviews and things just weren't panning out for me. My husband was able to secure a job through a friend, so things were a little better for us, but with us being a two-income family, it wasn't near enough to make end's meet. After a few months of looking, a friend suggested I put my resume on Dice.com. I had never heard of it, but he assured me it was good site, and perfect for my line of work as a technical trainer and documentation developer. The next day, I put my resume on Dice, and it wasn't three days later that I received a call from a recruiter who had seen my resume there. I hadn't even spent any time looking for jobs that were listed on the site just yet, but I was thrilled to have someone contact me. Needless to say, this particular job was perfect for me, I had two interviews and I was hired, making more than I was making in my previous job. I was thrilled. The company I used to work for has since closed the Minnesota location, and I have recommended Dice.com to all of my friends who were still working there at the time of the closure. Several of my friends have found employment through Dice as well. After months on other job sites with nothing happening, to find a job after having my resume up on Dice for only three days made me extremely happy. I will continue to recommend it to anyone I know that is looking for a new job!

Roughly two years ago, I was fresh out of college with no experience and I had just received my first job offer. I worked with that company for close to 19 months. Within that time frame, I got married and purchased my first home. Let me say that I really struggled with balancing my finances because at the time I was making a very low salary, working as a software developer. I had to make a change or else I would end up putting myself into a financial hole, so I turned to Dice.com. It was not long before Dice helped with my search. I applied to a job posting not knowing if I was qualified or not. In total, I probably submitted my resume to four different positions. A couple of weeks went by, and while I was on my honeymoon, the company that I felt under qualified for contacted me. I was unable to get in contact with them because I was on vacation outside of the country. When I finally got home, unaware that anyone called me, I listened to my messages and realized the company had called me nearly a week ago. My first thought was I missed my chance, but little did I know the position was still open. I called immediately and even though it was past business hours, I left a message with the recruiter. The following day I received a call back and an interview was scheduled. The process went smoothly and within the week, I was hired as a software developer and a load was taken off of my shoulders financially speaking. I almost doubled my salary and I never thought it was possible this early in my career. Now I have a lot of confidence. I am living very comfortably and my family could not be happier. I owe a large part of my success to Dice for providing me with the access to apply to such positions. Let me leave you by saying, "Thanks Dice."
